Fire

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on December 30th, 2007, emergency services attended a residential fire in the 400 block of Bannerman Avenue.

No one was injured as a result of the fire which is currently being investigated by the Arson Strike Force.

No further information is available at this time.

Impaired Driver Arrested

On December 30th, 2007 at approximately 5:15 a.m., a male was operating a motor vehicle on Greenway Crescent West where he was observed by police driving over a curb and through a snow bank.

Uniform members stopped the vehicle in the area of Ness Avenue and Harcourt Street and arrested the twenty-nine year old male driver. He is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Over .08% mgs and was released on an Appearance Notice. His name will be released once formal charges have been laid.

Impaired Driver Arrested

On December 30th, 2007 at approximately 2:49 a.m., Uniform members stopped a vehicle in the area of Pembina Highway and Jubilee Avenue due to the manner the vehicle was being operated.

A twenty-five year old male was arrested and is facing charges of Impaired Driving, Drive Over .08% mgs and Breach of Probation. He was released on a Promise to Appear and his name will be released once formal charges have been laid.

Impaired Driver Arrested

On December 30th, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., Uniform members observed a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Elgin Avenue and Sherbrook Street. The vehicle was stopped at Henderson Highway and Johnson Street and the driver arrested.

Thirty-five year old James GERWING of Winnipeg has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Suspended and Drive Imprudently under the Highway Traffic Act and detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
