For Immediate Release
Three Males Arrested for Numerous Break-Ins
On November 29th, around 4:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a burglar alarm at a tanning business in the 1100 block of Henderson Hwy. A stolen vehicle was observed leaving the scene and followed to the area of Barber Street and Rover Avenue where the vehicle struck a garbage bin and three occupants fled on foot.
With the assistance of the Canine Unit all three suspects were apprehended in the area.
As a result of the investigation by the Division #13 Crime Unit and the Division #14 Crime Unit these three males have also been charged for numerous commercial break-ins which have occurred between November 16th and November 29th.
Clinton Garry QUESNEL, 29 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft X13 and Possess Goods Obtained by Crime under $5,000.
Christopher Mark THICKFOOT, 21 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft x 10, Assault, Resist Arrest, Possess Goods Obtained by Crime under $5,000 and Fail To Comply Recognizance.
Shane Alec MORRISSEAU, 19 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft x 18, Possess Goods Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Flight From Police, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle and Breach Probation X 2.
All three males have been detained in custody.
Impaired Driver Arrested
On November 29th, 2007 shortly after 10:00 p.m., a 60 year old male was operating his vehicle east bound on Templeton Avenue when he drove into the rear of a vehicle parked on Templeton.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended and have charged Slawek KALAMAJ, 60 years, of Winnipeg, with Impaired Driving and Failure to Provide Breath Sample.
Impaired Driver Arrested
On November 29th, 2007 shortly after 10:30 p.m. a male was operating his vehicle in a parking lot in the 800 block of Allegheny Drive. The male drove his vehicle into a fence, knocking it over, and continued driving and struck a tree.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended and have charged Darcy Jack LAHN, 46 years, of Winnipeg with Impaired Driving, Failure to Provide Breath Sample and Drive without a License.
Theft of Laptops
Sometime between October 26th and October 29th, 2007, four laptop computers and one projector were stolen from a Government building in the 400 block of Broadway.
Sometime between November 13th and November 14th, 2007, three laptop computers and two hand-held communication devices were stolen from the same building.
Both incidents have been reported to the Winnipeg Police Service and are currently being investigated by the Division #11 Crime Unit.
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to remind everyone to store all valuables in a secure location and out of sight when not in use, at all times.
