Winnipeg Police Service Media Release
For Immediate Release
Fire
On April 28th, shortly before 9:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to a fire in a suite in an apartment block in the 700 block of Cambridge Street. A 42 year old male was transported to hospital in critical condition. Damage is estimated at over $60,000.00. The Arson Task Force is continuing the investigation.
Robbery
On April 28th, shortly after 1:30 p.m. a lone male entered into a floral shop in the 600 block of McPhillips Street, produced a knife and demanded money. After receiving cash the suspect fled the store into an awaiting vehicle.
The suspect is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 40-50 years of age, 5'6”-5'9”, slim build, brown eyes and medium length dark scruffy hair wearing a blue jean jacket and matching blue jeans.
The suspect vehicle is described as red in color, possibly four door and license plate unknown.
