Suspicious Vehicle Parked at Doors of 333 Broadway
This morning at 11:50 a.m., the male driver of a vehicle parked his vehicle in front of the doors of 333 Broadway. He initially refused to exit the vehicle but has since been apprehended and is currently in police custody.
The building is currently being evacuated as well as the buildings at 363 Broadway and the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Building at 325 Broadway. Employees at any other building within a four block radius are asked to stay away from windows and remain at the centre of the floors while in the building.
The Winnipeg Police Service Bomb Unit is currently on scene and is conducting an assessment of the vehicle to determine if any explosives are present.
Streets surrounding the building are closed for a four block radius until further notice.
Motorists should avoid the Broadway area and attempt to find alternate routes to their destinations until further notice.
Update
At approximately 3:30 p.m. the Winnipeg Police Service Bomb Unit conducted a sweep of the vehicle and found the vehicle and area safe and no explosive device was located. The area has been re-opened to traffic and persons have been allowed to re-enter their buildings.
At this time one adult male is in police custody.
