Winnipeg Police Service Media Release

Commercial Break and Enter on Regent Avenue

On October 31st at approximately 2:00 a.m. a vehicle drove through the south west doors to a business located in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue. The suspect vehicle crashed through the outer doors into the vestibule and stole a vending machine and drove off.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured van, possibly a 2000 model Plymouth Voyager.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years, average build, balding with a goatee and wearing glasses.

The second suspect is described as a white male, late 20's, average build with short blonde hair.

Members of Winnipeg Police Service District 4 Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information regarding this information can contact them at 204-986-2859 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

 

Re-bar Damages Several Windows Throughout City

On October 28th, 2006 shortly after midnight there were several incidents throughout the city in which pieces of steel bar known as re-bar were used to damage windows of residences and businesses.

The incidents occurred at addresses on River Pointe Road, Wellington Cresent, and Portage Avenue.

Police are asking any one with any information regarding these incidents can contact Winnipeg Police Service District 2 Detectives at 204-986-2840, or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

 

Male Arrested for Assault Police Officer

On Monday, October 30th, 2006 shortly after 12:00 noon uniform members of Winnipeg Police Service attempted to spot check a male in the area of Wellington Avenue and Maryland Street. The male fled and was caught by pollice after a short foot pursuit. He kicked one of the arresting officers and was arrested.

Christopher Jack, 18 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Assault Police Officer, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, and Fail to Comply with Condition of a Recognizance X 2.

Jack was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
