Morals Unit Sex Trade Enforcement
On May 30th, 2006, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Morals Unit conducted enforcement regarding sex trade workers in Winnipeg's North End. Four females from the age of 17 years to 30 years were arrested and are now facing charges of Communicate for the Purpose of Prostitution.
Grow Operation
On May 30th, 2006, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Green Team conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an address in the 400 block of Regent Avenue West. A search of this residence revealed the following;
- 20 Marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $22,400.00
- 100 grams of Marihuana with an estimated street value of $1000.00
- 5 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms) with an estimated street value of $75.00
- 30 grams of Cannabis Resin with an estimated street value of $750.00
- Marihuana in the process of being made into Cannabis Resin
A 50 year old male is now facing charges of Producing Marihuana, Producing Cannabis Resin, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Proceeds of Crime.
Robbery
On May 30th, shortly after 7:30 a.m. a 26 year old female was walking in the area of Sargent Avenue and Simcoe Street when she was approached by two unknown females. The suspects pushed the victim up against a building and demanded and received money and fled the area. The victim was not physically injured.
The first suspect is described as female, 20-25 years of age, 5'4”, muscular build, long dark hair in a pony tail, wearing blue jeans and glasses.
The second suspect is described as female, 20-25 years of age, 5'5”, heavy build, long dark hair in a pony tail and wearing jeans.
