Crime Awareness Presentations

The Winnipeg Police Service Crime Prevention Section will be hosting 12 Crime Awareness Presentations throughout the City this fall at various schools and community clubs. These presentations enhance the current Neighbourhood Watch Program. The presentations are designed to inform citizens of current crime trends and educate them in preventative measures. The Service invites the public to attend these one hour Power Point Presentations.

The presentations will cover the following topics:

  • Residential Home Security
  • Auto Theft
  • Personal Safety on the Street
  • Identity Theft and Fraud
  • How to identify Drug Grow Operations
  • Neighbourhood Watch

Presentations will be held as follows, starting at 7:00 P.M.

October 4 - Gateway Recreation Centre, 1717 Gateway Rd

October 11 – Sturgeon Creek Collegiate, 2665 Ness Av.

October 12 – Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba, 737 Keewatin St

October 18 – East End Community Club, 517 Pandora Av E,

October 19 – Daniel McIntyre High School, 720 Alverstone Av.

October 19 – Shaftsbury School, 2240 Grant Av

October 24 – Garden City Community Centre, 725 Kingsbury Av.

October 25 – Dakota Collegiate, 661 Dakota

November 01 - Westdale Community Club, 550 Dale Blvd

November 02 – Louis Riel Arts and Technical Centre , 5 DeBourmont Avenue

November 08 – Mennonite Brethren Collegiate, 181 Riverton Avenue

November 15 – Church of the Rock, 1397 Buffalo Place

As crime trends change, the Crime Prevention Section introduces new presentations to meet the needs of the citizens of Winnipeg. Together, we can make a difference. Plan on attending one of our presentations in your community. Citizens who attend will receive a comprehensive 80 page Crime Prevention Handbook.
