Robbery
On June 24th, 2005, shortly after 5:00 p.m. a 61 year old male was approached by three unknown males in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Balmoral Street. The victim was slashed with a knife and knocked to the ground. The suspects then fled the area with the victims’ wallet. The victim received medical treatment and was released from hospital.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 6’0”, with long braided hair, wearing an adidas jacket and blue jeans.
The second suspect was described as a black male, 5’10”, muscular build, wearing a light t-shirt and baggy blue jeans.
No description of the third male.
Gas Station Robbery
On June 25th shortly after 11:00 p.m. the Domo Gas Bar in the first 100 block of St Anne’s Road was robbed. A lone male entered the gas bar, produced a knife and demanded and obtained money and cigarettes. The suspect then fled the area.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 20-25 years of age, 5’9” - 5’10”, medium build, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans a white baseball cap and a blue bandana covering his face.
Gas Station Robbery
On June 25th shortly after 12:30 a.m. the Petro-Canada gas bar in the 1000 block of Keewatin Street was robbed. A lone male entered the store, produced a knife and demanded and obtained money and cigarettes. The suspect then fled the area.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 5’2”, 23-28 years of age, skinny build, unshaven, wearing black nylon jacket, black baseball hat, black nylon pants with white stripes on the legs.
Robbery
On June 26th, shortly after 12:00 a.m. a 46 year old male was approached by two unknown males in the area of Ness Avenue and Moray Street. The suspects demanded the victims’ money, cell phone and sunglasses and fled the area.
The first suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, 30 years of age, heavy build, brown hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and blue shorts.
The second suspect is described as 30 years of age, 5’10”, slim build, wearing a light colored t-shirt, black gym pants and a black head band.
Break, Enter and Theft Arrest
On June 25th shortly before 1:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police responded to the report of a Break and Enter in progress in the 1100 block of College Avenue. Upon arrival police observed two males exiting the residence and a short foot pursuit ensued.
Douglas Brent Smith, 34 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter dwelling house-commit indictable offence X 4, Assault a Peace Officer X 2, Obstruct, Resist Peace Officer, Possession of Break In instruments, Possession of a Firearm while prohibited, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance.
Dennis Joseph Tougas, 38 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter dwelling house-commit indictable offence X 4, Breach of Probation and Possession of break in Instruments.
Homicide Unit Investigation
On June 26th, shortly before 4:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police attended to the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue in regards to an assault. As a result of this investigation the Homicide Unit has confirmed that a 39 year old male was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has led to a Warrant for 2nd Degree Murder to be issued for a Raymond Smith, 50 years of age of no fixed address. Raymond Smith is aboriginal in appearance, 5’10”, 216 lbs., with black hair.
Raymond Smith is of interest in this investigation and is believed to be in the Province of Manitoba. The Winnipeg Police Service is asking anyone with information as to the whereabouts of this individual to contact the Winnipeg Police Service at 986-6222 or the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit at 986-6508.

Update:
The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has made an arrest in the recent investigation in the death of a 39 year old male in the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue. Raymond Smith, 50 years of age of no fixed address is now facing charges of 2nd Degree Murder.
