Homicide Investigation

On June 6th, 2005, shortly after 1:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police attended to a park in the area of Talbot Avenue and Stadacona Street where a 17 year old male had been stabbed. This male was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is continuing and the Winnipeg Police are requesting anyone with information with regard to this incident to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 986-6219.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

On June 5th, 2005, shortly after 11:50 p.m. three vehicles were traveling westbound on Portage Avenue side by side from Moray Street.

As they approached Wallasey Street the driver of one of the vehicles lost control and collided with a vehicle attempting to turn onto Wallasey Street. The driver of this vehicle, a 39 year old female, was taken to hospital where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 22 year old male is facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm and Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm.

The driver of the second vehicle, a second 22 year old male, is facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act of Race with another Motor Vehicle.

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the third vehicle. It is described as a late model Ford Mustang, dark color, with a white racing stripe.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the District # 2 Planned Response Unit at 986-2841.
