Break, Enter & Theft

Between April 1st, 2005, and June 3rd, 2005 numerous garages in the Fort Rouge and Lord Roberts areas were broken into. During these break-ins bicycles and tools were stolen.

On June 3rd, 2005, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service uniform officers arrested Frederick Leslie Witwicki, 26 years of age of Winnipeg. The accused has been charged with Possession of break In Instruments, Theft Under X 2, Break, Enter a place-commit indictable offence X 6, Utter Forged Document X 2 and Breach of Probation Order.

 

Robbery

On June 4th, 2005 shortly after 12:00 a.m. a 36 year old female was walking in the vicinity of Daly Street and Jubilee Avenue when she was approached from behind by a female who was armed with a pillow case with a heavy object inside who demanded her purse. The victim refused and ran from the area and contacted police.

Two 15 year old males and one 14 year old female now face charges of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The 14 year old female is also facing charges of Robbery with a Weapon.

 

Fire

On June 3rd, shortly after 11:00 p.m. members of the Arson task Force attended to a house fire in the 500 Block of Gateway Road. The fire was contained to the basement and first floor and sustained substantial damage. One occupant of the house sustained minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.

 

Deceased Male

This morning shortly before 6:30 a.m. the body of a 43 year old male was located near the river bank at Main Street and Assiniboine Avenue. There were no obvious signs of foul play and it is believed that this individual died of natural causes. Next of kin have not yet been notified.

 

Break, Enter & Theft

This morning shortly after 5:00 a.m. a residence in the 300 block of Bond Street was broken into while the home owner was asleep. The home owner awoke to observe the suspect filling up a gym bag with his medication.

The suspect is described as 20-25 years of age, 5’8”, medium build, dark brown short hair, clean shaven wearing a black jacket with red trim and jeans.

The following medication was stolen:

Zopiclone, Diltiazem, Domperinone, Triclopidine, Topiramate, and Lansoprazole. The medications are heart medication, sleeping pills, blood thinners and blood pressure pills. In total 175 pills where stolen.

The Winnipeg Police Service is advising the public that ingestion of this medication alone or in combination, if not administered properly, could have possible serious effects and may in some circumstances be lethal.
