Attempted Abduction
On June 2nd, shortly before 9:30 p.m. a 16 year old female was walking in the area of Manitoba Avenue and Buller Street when she was approached by a male who took her hand and attempted to get her into his car. When the female refused the suspect let go and fled the area.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 35 years of age, shaved brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black boots.
The vehicle is described as a sporty silver coloured four door car with tinted windows and an “A” in the license plate number.
Robbery
On the 30th of May, 2005, female was approached in the area of Battery Street and College Avenue by a female who produced a knife and demanded the victim turn over her purse. The victim complied and the suspect fled the area.
On the 30th of May, 2005, a home in the 400 block of Burrin Avenue was broken into and electronic equipment was stolen.
On the 1st of June, 2005 a old female was approached in a Shopping Mall parking lot in the 1700 block of Henderson Highway by a female who produced a knife and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled the area.
Again on the 1st of June shortly after 8:30 p.m. another female was approached in a parking lot in the area of St. Annes Road and Fermor Avenue by a female who produced a knife and demanded the victim’s purse. The victim began to scream and the suspect fled the area.
On the 2nd of June another female was approached in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue by a female who demanded her purse. The victim refused and a struggle ensued ending with the suspect fleeing the area without the victim’s purse.
Again on June 2nd, in the area of Henderson Highway and Kimberley Avenue a female was approached by another female who produced a knife and demanded money. When the victim stated she had no money this female demanded the victim turn over her jewellery. The victim complied and the suspect again fled the area.
Also on the 2nd of June, a residence in the 600 block of Castle Street was broken into and electronic equipment was stolen.
Jamie Lee Zebrasky, 28 years of age of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with Weapon X 3, Robbery with intent X 2, Break, Enter and Theft X 2.
Mary Joane Belanger, 26 years of age of Winnipeg has also been charged with Robbery with Weapon and Possessing a Controlled Drug or Substance.
Homicide Investigation on Talbot Avenue - Update
Yesterday the Winnipeg Police Service released that shortly after 6:00 p.m. a male was assaulted near Talbot Avenue and Watt Street. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
The victim has been identified as Aaron Bruce Hannibal, 31 years of age of Winnipeg. The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation.
