 The Recruiting Team has added a third WPS-PAT Orientation Sessions:

  Thursday, June 1, 2017 - 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. FULL
  WPS headquarters 245 Smith.  (Meet in the front lobby.)

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 - 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. FULL
  WPS headquarters 245 Smith.  (Meet in the front lobby.)

Wednesaday, June 7, 2017 - 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
  WPS headquarters 245 Smith.  (Meet in the front lobby.)

You must register in advance to attend. Contact Winnipeg Police recruiting via email 
  wps-recruiting@winnipeg.ca to register. Include name and phone number as well 
  as what session you will be attending.

  Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your session.

 

Auxiliary Cadets are peace officers that work throughout the city to enhance the Service’s visual presence, build positive relationships in the community and allow police members to focus on core police duties. A Cadet’s daily activities vary and include

  • conducting neighborhood foot patrol
  • guarding crime scenes
  • directing traffic
  • assisting in ground searches
  • receiving minor property and motor vehicle reports
  • enforcing provincial statutes and municipal by-laws
  • referring citizens to assisting agencies

As with police officers and staff, the Auxiliary Cadets have to exemplify the core competencies of City of Winnipeg employees:

  • Results Oriented

Applicants chosen for these positions may be selected as full or part-time employees.
