2018 Conference of Police Museums
Exhibiting Difficult Knowledge

June 5 - 7,  2018

Norwood Hotel/Winnipeg Police Headquarters

Winnipeg, Manitoba

Come join delegates and presenters across North America as we explore an underlying concern for police museums worldwide - How to Exhibit Difficult Material.

From hangman nooses to capital punishment, there historical artifacts and concepts must be remembered, but also showcased in a manner that is respectful to museum patrons in this day and age.

This three-day event will feature several sessions each morning, with topics ranging from how and where to display to difficult exhibits, to lighting and signage, to reaching out to seniors, schools and the community.

The afternoons will include tours of Winnipeg tourism hotspots such as The Forks and Lower Fort Garry. There will also be tours of several museums in Winnipeg, including a visit to the highly regarded Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

Join us while we learn, share and connect with others in the Police Museum community.
