News Room – Inside the Winnipeg Police Service

National Volunteer Week is April 12 - 18 Volunteer Appreciation Week 2015 National Volunteer Week

Contributions of Committed Citizens Are Part of Ripple Effect in our Community

April 12-18 is National Volunteer Week in Canada. The Winnipeg Police Service proudly salutes each of the volunteers involved with our Community Volunteer and Victim Services Volunteer Programs – and indeed everyone who makes our community stronger by volunteering their time and expertise to the countless community groups and organizations working to make life in Winnipeg a little better for us all.

To be certain, your efforts do not go unnoticed!

As Paula Speevak, President and CEO of Volunteer Canada so eloquently states: “The impact of volunteering goes well beyond the hours given, the values shared or the skills contributed. It can be found in smiles exchanged, bold new directions taken by agencies, revitalized neighbourhoods and major shifts in public attitudes.”

Thanks once again, volunteers, for everything you do!
