K9 Unit Enters the Drop Zone

On Thursday, August 21st, 2014, 67 brave Drop Zone participants challenged their daily comfort zone and rappelled 17 storeys down the side of the RBC Building at 220 Portage Ave in support of SMD Foundation/Easter Seals™ Manitoba.

The 10th Annual Easter Seals™ Drop Zone was an adventure of a lifetime for people of all abilities and ages, including 70 year old Madeline Field (below), and Constable Jay Jaskiewicz (left) who enjoyed rappelling 200 feet down with his K9 partner Diesel.

Here's their story!

The entire day was filled with music, excitement and a variety of costumes. The highest fundraiser, Wanda Samec raised $7,500 and was given the opportunity to rappel a second time.

Over $105,000 was raised to support vital programs and services that reach over 47,000 children, youth and adults with disabilities per year in Manitoba.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

Donations are still graciously accepted and will help change a life today!
