Sirens for Life Blood Donor Challenge Under WaySirens for Life Summer 2014

Emergency services workers often see the need for blood firsthand—just one patient with internal bleeding may need up to eight blood donors to help save their life.

That’s why EMT, firefighters, police, RCMP and hospital employees across Canada are joining forces to ensure patients receive the blood they need this summer.

With the help of community members, emergency services workers will top up Canada’s blood supply through the Sirens for Life summer blood donor drive.

Sirens for Life launched on July 1st in Winnipeg. Join the life-saving effort by visiting www.blood.ca, downloading the GiveBlood app off of iTunes or calling 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236 6283) now to book an appointment this summer for the Seven Oakes Hospital Blood Donor Clinic on August 15th.

This summer, Canadian Blood Services needs to fill 30,000 open appointments every week.

We also need the help of Canadians coast to coast to replenish our O negative blood supply now. When seconds count, someone’s life is on the line, and there’s no time to check blood type, hospital patients receive O negative blood.
