Join Us for “Shred It” Event March 31st @ St. Vital Centre

The Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit is hosting a free “Shredding Day” event on Monday, March 31 in the parking lot at St. Vital Centre.

Monday, March 31
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
St. Vital Centre - Parking lot just outside movie theatre
(north side of Meadowood, east of the bus loop, west of CIBC)
A maximum of two bags or boxes per person to this FREE event please.

Shredding your important documents is still one of the best ways to protect yourself from thieves trying to steal your identity.

Pieces of mail with your name, address, date of birth, signature, etc., discarded in the trash can be used to complete a credit card application in your name.

According to a report by the Canada Anti-Fraud Centre there were 17,009 Canadians were the victims of identity theft in 2012. The total reported losses $15,981,763.45.
