Winnipeg Crime Stoppers
If you have information to report to police about a crime and want to remain anonymous, contact the Winnipeg Crime Stoppers program. Cash awards are paid if the tip leads to the arrest of a person(s) responsible for an unsolved crime.
How Does Crime Stoppers Work?
Each month an unsolved crime is re-enacted in a video and shown on the Winnipeg Police and the Crime Stoppers Web sites. Anyone with information about the featured crime can submit a tip online or call the Crime Stoppers Tips Line.

Each person who submits a tip is given a tip number, which is used in all subsequent transactions. Calls are not traced or recorded, online tips are not tracked to the sender and you never have to reveal your identity. These steps ensure that the person providing the tip remains anonymous.
An award is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
To provide an anonymous tip:
- Call the Tips Line: 204-786-TIPS ( 204-786-8477) Hours: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., every day
- Submit a Tip Online
- Text Message Tip 170 plus your message to: CRIMES (274637)
Note: Crime Stoppers is for anonymous tips only. If you would like to identify yourself when reporting information about a crime, call the non-emergency police phone number at 204-986-6222 or the investigating officers on the case.
How is Crime Stoppers Managed and Funded?
Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is a charitable, non-profit organization supported by donations from individuals, corporations, retailers, clubs, civic and social groups. A civilian Board of Directors actively guides the program. Award amounts are determined at the sole and absolute discretion of the Board.
