Superintendent Corrine Scott

Superintendent Corrine ScottIn May of 1981, Superintendent Scott began her career with the Winnipeg Police Service. After graduating from recruit class, she was assigned to work as a general patrol uniform officer in the south end of the city. In 1985, Superintendent Scott was transferred to the Vice Division. There, she worked as an undercover narcotics officer. In 1991, Superintendent Scott was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant. In 1995, she was transferred to the Traffic Division and worked in the capacity of a street and shift supervisor for the next five years. During that time, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Staff Sergeant and was assigned to the Communications Center and to the Criminal Investigation Bureau as well.

In 2001, Superintendent Scott was promoted to rank of Inspector. She was re-assigned to the Communications Center where she oversaw police operations for the City of Winnipeg.

In 2002, Superintendent Scott was awarded the Police Exemplary Service Medal by the Governor General of Canada.

In 2004, Superintendent Scott was promoted to her current rank and she is presently in charge of Uniform Operations.

Superintendent Scott has a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Athabasca University; a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree from the University of Manitoba; a Graduate Diploma in Management from Athabasca University; a Management Development for Women Certificate from the University of Manitoba and two Police Leadership Certificates from Dalhousie University. Superintendent Scott is also a graduate of the Canadian Police College and a graduate of the Emergency Preparedness College in Ottawa.

Superintendent Scott is an active member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), the Manitoba Association of Chiefs of Police (MACP) and the International Association of Women Police (IAWP). She is currently a member of the CACP National Police Services (NPS) committee as well as a member of the CACP Police Information and Statistics (POLIS) committee.

In 2006, Superintendent Scott became an ‘Aide-de-Camp’ to the Honourable John Harvard and she now serves as ‘Aide-de-Camp’ to the Honourable Phillip Lee.

In 2009, Superintendent Scott was invested into the Order of Manitoba. She was one of 12 new members inducted into the Order by Lt.-Gov. John Harvard, chancellor of the order, during a special ceremony held at the Manitoba Legislative Building. Established under special legislation, the Order of Manitoba is the province’s highest honour. It recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour, benefiting in an outstanding manner the social, cultural or economic well-being of Manitoba and its residents.
