CRIMINAL RECORD SEARCH CERTIFICATE
You may apply in person or by mail to obtain a Criminal Record Search Certificate. Turn around time or processing time will be approximately 3 to 4 weeks. To apply in person, attend to the Public Safety Building, 151 Princess St. at William Ave. Pay at the Cashier on the main floor, then go to the Bureau of Police Records on the 4th floor with your receipt. For payment amount, please see Fee Schedule (Fees change annually). Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Closed on Statutory Holidays Persons requiring a Criminal Record Search Certificate must complete the Application For Criminal Record Search Certificate P-612 and mail to the address below, or bring it with you if applying in person. Two (2) pieces of Identification are required. Persons requiring a Criminal Record Search Certificate in order to work/volunteer with a vulnerable sector must also sign and date Section 3 - Vulnerable Sector Consent on the P-612 form, allowing the Winnipeg Police Service to check for a sexual offence for which a pardon has been granted or issued. The Vulnerable Sector includes persons under 18 years of age, and/or persons who, due to age, disability or other circumstances, are dependent on others or are at a greater risk of harm than the general population from a person in a position of authority or trust. Applicants may complete the Criminal Record Search Certificate Waiver P-613 if they want the results of the Criminal Record Search Certificate (when no convictions exist) forwarded to their prospective employer. AGENCIES REQUESTING CRIMINAL RECORD SEARCH CERTIFICATESA criminal record search includes searching the records of both the Winnipeg Police Service and the National Repository of Ottawa (RCMP) under the subject's name and date of birth. The results will indicate:

FINGERPRINTSPersons requiring fingerprints must attend to the Cashier's wicket on the main floor of the Public Safety Building (151 Princess St. Winnipeg, Manitoba) and pay the required fee. For payment amount, please see Fee Schedule (Fees change annually). Cashier Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Closed on Statutory Holidays Indentification Unit Hours (For Fingerprints) : Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Persons must then attend, with the payment receipt, to the Identification Unit on the 2nd Floor to have their fingerprints taken. Persons requesting a Motor Vehicle Collision Report complete the Motor Vehicle Collision Request Form P-615 and mail, along with copies of the required identification and fee, to the address on the form. For payment amount, please see Fee Schedule (Fees change annually). Two pieces of Identification are required. Persons may attend, in person, to the Public Safety Building (151 Princess St. Winnipeg, Manitoba) to request this information. |

The Winnipeg Police Service does not release copies of police reports. For incidents, where criminal charges are not pending before the courts, you may apply for a “Police Report Confirmation Letter”. The letter will provide the date the incident occurred, the date it was reported, the offence location, a brief summary of what occurred and if the offence was cleared by charge. Persons requesting an Incident Confirmation Letter must complete the Police Report Confirmation Request Form P-614 and mail, along with copies of the required identification and fee, to the address on the form. For payment amount, please see Fee Schedule (Fees change annually). Two pieces of Identification are required. The public may attend in person or mail in the above application with payment and copies of identification. |
