Chain of Command
A uniform member’s rank is worn on the epaulets on the top of their shoulders:

| CHIEF OF POLICE: | Three pips surmounted by a crown; no badge number |
| DEPUTY CHIEF: | Two pips surmounted by a crown; no badge number |
| SUPERINTENDENT: | One pip surmounted by a crown; no badge number |
| INPECTOR: | One crown; no badge number |
| STAFF SERGEANT: | Four inverted chevrons above badge number |
| SERGEANT: | Three chevrons surmounted by a crown above badge number |
| PATROL SERGEANT: | Three chevrons above badge number |
| DETECTIVE SERGEANT: | Plainclothes (Equivalent to Patrol Sergeant) |
| SENIOR CONSTABLE: | One chevron above badge number |
| CONSTABLE: | Badge number |
| CIVILIAN MEMBERS: | Seniority may be determined by an employee’s staff number |
