Bid Opportunities - Zipped Files

April 4, 2008 - Those of you who have been visiting our web site on a regular basis will have noticed that the layout of our Bid Opportunity Documents page has changed. We have added a new feature that will enable our bidders to download the Bid Opportunity documents using the Zip function.

The Zip function will allow you to download all documents, including drawings, into one file. We hope that this new ability to Zip all the Bid Opportunity documents you want, will also be more efficient as you’ll be able to get quick access to needed documents, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without leaving the office or home.

Each Bid Opportunity has a sub-heading “Documents”. The downloadable documents will have a hypertext link, once clicked, the hypertext link will open a page with all documents related to the Bid Opportunity, including any and all addenda. The documents posted will be in the industry standard Adobe Acrobat PDF format. The new features on the Bid Opportunity documents page are the functions entitled “Zip Files”, “Check All”, “UnCheck All” or “Reverse Check”.

  • To Zip all the files of a Bid Opportunity click on the “Check All” option, all of the documents will then be checked.

  • To Zip the files, click on the “Zip Files” button at the top of the page . It may take a minute to Zip your files depending on the size and number; you will see the following message at the top of the page, “Beginning zipping now....Please Wait. When the zipping is complete a link will be available at the bottom of this page.”

  •  The link is: Download this File. Click on the red link and a box titled “File Download” will appear. You will click on the “Save” button and then save the Zip files to your computer directory. A new box will appear when your download is complete and give you the option to “Open”, “Open Folder” or “Close”.

The folder of zipped documents that you have saved will have the extension of .zip   E.g., matmgt-3.31.2008-14.58.7-.192.168.36.29.3.31.2008.3.06.35.PM.675.zip. You will double click on the folder and all of the Bid Opportunity documents you’ve downloaded will be in the folder.

This process is evolving over time and we look forward to your comments and input.
