Business Technology Services

Information technology services in the City of Winnipeg are provided and organized on a de-centralized basis (within departments) and on a centralized basis (through CIT Business Technology Services). The City-BTS focus is on those services that:

  • span multiple departments
  • are founded on shared or common IT infrastructure
  • are more efficiently provided by one provider than many
  • require extensive specialization and are required by more than one department

 

Corporate Information Technology

Business Technology Services provides four major IT and communication service areas:

Connectivity Services
Desktop Management - Desktop Management is responsible for planning, implementing and supporting information technology within the Corporate Support Services Department as well as by service agreements with other smaller civic departments. Areas of responsibility include desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile and voice devices.

WORKPLACE MANAGEMENT

The Workplace Management Division is responsible for planning, implementing and supporting information technology within the Corporate Support Services Departments as well as by service agreements with other smaller civic departments. Areas of responsibility include desktops, laptops, printers, mobile and voice devices, and facility management.
