Labour Relations and Compensation

Labour Relations and Compensation provides advice and guidance with respect to labour relations and compensation issues. Services include the negotiation of collective agreements; consultation regarding the grievance/ discipline process; assistance in the preparation and presentation of the arbitration process; maintenance of the employee classification process; and internal / external market analysis.

Labour Relations Branch

  • negotiations of various collective agreements between the City and its unions.
  • provides advice and guidance to line departments in the application and interpretation of collective agreements.
  • provides expertise in resolving issues either before or through the grievance/discipline/arbitration processes on behalf of the City.

Employee Compensation Branch

  • researches, develops, implements and/or monitors systems, administrative policies and procedures related to market research,
  • benefits policy analysis and strategic planning,
  • job evaluation/compensation systems,
  • related consultation.

2010 City of Winnipeg Compensation Disclosure

The City of Winnipeg has prepared this document as required under the Provincial Public Sector Compensation Disclosure Act. This Act stipulates that every year, all Manitoba municipalities must publish a complete list of all employees and members of the governing body who received compensation of $50,000 or more in the previous fiscal year.

The figure assigned to each position includes salary and taxable benefits such as car allowance, as well as any retirement allowance, back pay or severance pay.
