Human Resource Development
The Human Resource Development Division provides developmental and educational opportunities for employees, as well as occupational safety health and wellness services that promote the well-being and safety of the City workforce.
Corporate Education provides:
- in-house employee development/courses
- support to organizational change initiatives
- guidelines and procedures related to training and development
Occupational Health provides:
- at the request of a department, confidential medical and nursing assessments, ergonomic assessments, wellness promotion and disease injury prevention activities
- medical surveillance for the prevention of occupational diseases
- guidelines/procedures relevant to health issues affecting employees
Corporate Safety provides:
- support to comply with federal and provincial safety legislation
- safety guidelines and procedures
- safety training
- assistance with accident investigations, job site inspections and safety audits
Occupational Hygiene provides:
- information to allow for informed decision-making regarding exposure to chemical agents in the workplace
- Interpretation of technical data, and research
- assistance in the development of guidelines and procedures
The Employee Assistance Program provides:
- confidential professional counseling and psychotherapy to employees and their families
- experiential workshops
