WFPS Summer Career Week Rodeo Highlight

July 21, 2015

On Friday, July 17, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) and Oshki Annishinabe Nigaaniwak held its Rodeo event as part of the final day of the WFPS Summer Career Week. Aboriginal youth participants and City of Winnipeg employees joined together to compete in a fun, energetic obstacle course at the WFPS Training Academy.

The Rodeo included speedy activities related to what firefighters and paramedics would endure throughout their career such as using an emergency stretcher or fire hose in full firefighter gear. Aboriginal youth who’ve participated throughout the career week from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17 were enabled to use their newly-found skills against City of Winnipeg employees.

It was an exciting way to wrap up the 2015 WFPS Summer Career Week. Check out some of our moments captured below. Photo galleries of the 2015 Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Service will soon be released so stay tuned!
