How to Apply
I want to apply, in person, and the job posting states I can drop off my resume at City Hall - Human Resources. Where are you located?
Our Human Resources office at City Hall is located at 510 Main Street - Main Floor in the Administration Building (across from the Winnipeg Concert Hall).
What are your hours of operation at Human Resources - City Hall at 510 Main Street?
We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
I have a problem with my online application. I keep getting an error message.
If you cannot get the online application form it may be because you have your popup blocker on. Go to Tools > Popup Blocker > Turn off Popup Blocker.
Once my online application form is saved can I go back and make changes to it?
Once you click "I agree" on the application form your application is then saved and no more changes can be made. However, a message will appear saying... Thank You for your Application. Your form has been successfully saved. At this time, if there is something you would like to change or add to your application, please click on the link "ISD-HR-Internet-Contact" and state to us what you would like changed or added. An email will be sent to our Human Resources staff where we will ensure your application is updated.
When can I submit my application/resume?
We will accept your application/resume only when we have a job opening that is advertised.
Who do I address my cover letter to?
The contact name and address will appear on each job opening.
Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes, you will have to submit an application/resume for each job opening you want to apply to.
I missed the closing date. Can I still apply?
If you missed the closing date your application will not be accepted. You will have to wait until the next time we advertise that job before you can apply again.
Where can I find the closing date?
You can find the closing date under Current Openings and on the job opening details.
Where can I find the posting number?
All of our job openings have a posting number. The posting number can be found under Current Openings and on the job opening details.
I’m not a Canadian Citizen. Can I still apply?
Under the Immigration Act, only the following persons are authorized to work in Canada:- Canadian citizens
- Permanent residents; or
- Persons who have a valid employment authorization (work permit)
I worked for the City last summer and missed the callback from your hiring staff. Will I be called again this year?
If you missed our callback for the hiring season, you will have to re-apply again. Go to www.winnipeg.ca/hr and check out our current openings.
I’m not bilingual; however the job requires me to be bilingual. Can I still apply?
Yes you can still apply; however, your application may not be considered if being bilingual is a requirement for the job.

I’m a student and my job requires me to have work boots/safety footwear. Does the City pay for them?
No, students must pay for their own work boots/safety footwear.
Do you have any part-time jobs or jobs with various shifts?
