Additional Steps for Clerical (In-Person)

Step 6 – Call 986-3902 to make a keyboarding (typing) and word processing test appointment.

Step 7 – On the day of your testing appointment go to City Hall, Human Resources, Main Floor - 510 Main, Street Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Step 8
– Complete application form(s). Bring a copy of your current resume and a cover letter to attach to the form.

Step 9
– Complete a keyboarding (typing) test. If you achieve the net speed required (usually 30 or 40 wpm) then you proceed to Step 10. If not, your application will not go to the next level of the hiring process. If you applied to a job opening for a Clerical Inventory, your application will remain on file for any clerical jobs not requiring a keyboarding speed.

Step 10
– Complete the word processing test. If you achieve a score of 65% you will have a pre-screening interview. If not, your application will not go to the next level of the hiring process. If you applied to a job opening for a Clerical Inventory, your application will remain on file for any clerical jobs not having a word processing requirement.
