Riverbank Management Engineer
Planning, Property and Development
JOB SUMMARY
The Riverbank Management Engineer is
responsible for the management of the Waterways functions including processing
and approval of Waterway applications, providing administrative services and
technical support to the Riverbank Management Committee and various City
Departments in respect to management, development and planning along the City’s
waterways, developing and directing Riverbank research activities and project
management of special studies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience
in the Civil Engineering field and demonstrated experience in geotechnical
and hydraulics disciplines.
- Member
in good standing APEGM, and experience as a civil engineer in a
professional consulting role as project manager.
- Demonstrated
ability to work in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and
Outlook, and to learn and work with various software programs.
- Proficient
in the use of Slope/W, or equivalent bank stability software program (e.g.
Clara/W, Geoslope).
- Ability
to work with and effectively lead a work team in a public management
environment.
- Demonstrated
ability to communicate effectively both orally at public meetings and in
written form including the ability to prepare complex reports and
recommendations.
- Progressively
responsible project leadership and administrative abilities.
- Knowledge
of codes, standards, by-laws and regulations relating to waterways
development.
- Must
have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
