Traffic Management Engineer
Public Works Department
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Manager of
Transportation, the Traffic Management Engineer is responsible for optimizing
travel on the Regional Street System, considering the needs of all users,
balancing safety, efficiency and convenience through traffic management
techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's
Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master's
Degree in Engineering (Transportation) would be an asset.
- Registered
as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers
and Geoscientist of Manitoba.
- Minimum
of four years of related experience in traffic operations and management.
- Demonstrated
knowledge of traffic flow theory & traffic engineering techniques and
principles.
- Statistical
analysis techniques to analyze traffic growth trends, fluctuations and
significance of changes in collision histories.
- Knowledge
of laws and regulation, by-laws, policies and procedures governing the
planning, development and safe operation and maintenance of traffic
systems.
- Demonstrated
leadership and organizational skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated
ability to establish and maintain partnerships with various Departments,
community groups, agencies, and area residents and elected officials.
- Proficiency
using various Windows computer applications including Outlook, Word,
Excel, and other technical computer applications.
- Must
possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License.
