Traffic Signals Engineer

Public Works Department

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Manager of Transportation, the Traffic Signals Engineer is responsible for delivery of the following services within Council Policy and approved budget: Traffic signal control systems design, installation, operations and maintenance; Traffic signal plant design, installation, operations and maintenance; pedestrian corridor design, installation, operations and maintenance; illuminated sign design, installation, operations and maintenance; design, installation, operations and maintenance of intelligent transportation systems; Branch human resource management; and Branch budget/financial management.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
2. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.
3. Extensive working knowledge of traffic engineering and traffic control systems principles and practices.
4. Demonstrated leadership ability.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
6. Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License.
