P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk- Related Trauma in Youth)
  • The PARTY program is operated by the Manitoba Brain Injury Association (MBIA) with involvement and support from a number of agencies including the WFPS.
  • Schools can contact the MBIA to arrange for the opportunity for students to attend the full day workshop.
  • The program is offered to middle and high school students.
  • The WFPS can provide students with a presentation on the effects of drugs, alcohol, and risk-taking behavior.
  • A mock emergency scenario is set up for students to see what happens when someone is brought into the hospital with critical injuries, and the life-saving treatment provided there.
  • Volunteer brain injury survivors speak with students about their experience and how it changed their lives.
  • Occupational Therapists provide activities for students to demonstrate the difficulties encountered in everyday life and the challenges endured by people with brain and spinal cord injuries.
