Bariatric Unit
  • One of the vehicles assigned to the Winnipeg Emergency Medical Services fleet has been specially retrofitted to accommodate the needs of bariatric patients (BMI >38 or weight in excess of 350 lbs).
  • Some of the specialized equipment available includes a PowerFlexx Hydraulic Cot, EZ-Glide stair chair, Reeves Sleeve patient transfer tarp as well as a specialized loading system.
