The Burton Cummings Theatre for the Performing Arts |
Built in l907 expressly for quality live entertainment, the Walker is the oldest of Winnipeg’s surviving grand theatres and the only one developed by a resident owner. The building was converted to a single screen cinema in l945. The Odeon closed in l990 and reopened as the Walker Theatre in 1991. The theatre hosts concerts, dance performances, stage plays, musicals, variety shows, religious gatherings, events for all ages and lifestyles. The theatre seats 1650 people, offers in-house sound and lighting as well as technical support.

The Forks

This national historic treasure, at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers in the heart of Winnipeg, has a rich variety of indoor and outdoor venues. Lyric Bandshell
|
Amid the greenery of Assiniboine Park and built in the classic Tudor style to complement the Pavilion stands the beautiful Lyric Bandshell. The Manitoba Museum

Winnipeg Art Gallery

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a multi-faceted arts center with facilities and rooms to accommodate all types of special functions. The 320-seat Muriel Richardson Auditorium offers state-of-the-art technical services. Eckhardt Hall, the main foyer, is a 3,000 square foot exhibition gallery available for stand-up receptions for up to 400 and sit-down dinners for 200. The outdoor Rooftop Sculpture Garden, located four stories above downtown Winnipeg, can accommodate up to 300 people for weddings and receptions. There are also Board and Seminar rooms for up to 60 people. Full catering and audio/visual equipment is offered in-house.

Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers Studio Theatre(Crocus Building)

Located in the heart of Winnipeg’s historic Exchange district (NW corner Main and Bannatyne), WCD’s Studio Theatre, a beautifully-restored heritage space, is the ideal space for a performance, recital, workshop, presentation, lecture, rehearsal or audition.
While primarily used as a dance and theatre performance space, over the past three years WCD has hosted a number of additional events for organizations such as Film Training Manitoba, The Winnipeg Folk Festival, Canadian Centre for Disability Studies, National Film Board, Perth’s Cleaners and the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Architecture and School of Art.
WCD offers technical services and equipment, as well as event management services. The venue is available for hourly, daily or weekly rentals at very reasonable rates. These features, together with our experienced and dedicated staff, make the WCD Studio Theatre an ideal venue for small to medium sized events.
