Cinematheque

The Cinematheque opened in 1983 headed up by programmer/artistic director Dave Barber to provide a venue for independent, experimental, and Canadian films as well as international arthouse films. The theatre has 118 seats and is a great place to watch cool, weird or cult films, as well as host private renters for their myriad festivals, birthday parties, office meetings and more.

Fantasy Theatre for Children and The Theatre School

Fantasy Theatre for Children is Winnipeg's oldest children's theatre,
founded in 1981 by Artistic Director Tony Frost. The company operates
twelve months each year, and is famous for classics such as "Cinderella"
and "Charlotte's Web". The Theatre School offers performance-oriented
classes for those aged seven to seventy, with many students from the
school having achieved a very high profile in film, television, and
stage.

Le Cercle Moliere
|
Le Cercle Moliere, Canada’s oldest active theatre company, produces plays en francais. Four plays are produced annually from October through April in the Theatre de la Chapelle, an intimate café-style venue unique to Winnipeg at 825 rue St. Joseph. Le Cercle Moliere features the work of local playwrights and artists.
