Camerata Nova |
Camerata Nova was founded in 1996 as a choral ensemble dedicated to the exploration and performance of a cappella Renaissance music. the group has an impressive repertoire of works rescued from obscurity and presented in their original splendour. Camerata Nova also enjoys stretching the boundaries of its repertoire, exploring the use of overtone singing and unusual instruments, and performing a range of works from medieval songs to contemporary pieces, including compositions by Andrew Balfour, the group's Artistic Director.

"...where tradition embraces the future." |
The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg stages a varied recital series featuring, but not exclusively, gifted young Canadian artists at the outset of their professional careers. The Women's Musical Club of Winnipeg counts many international stars amongst its performers in more than a century of involvement in the musical diversity of this city. Such great talents as Leontyne Price, Glenn Gould, Maureen Forrester, Teresa Stratas, and Ofra Harnoy have graced our stage in the past. In the 2002-2003 season, we again embrace the future in presenting talented young Canadian musicians, all of whom have a connection to the vibrant musical community in Winnipeg.
