A Whirlpool means a whirlpool as defined by The Swimming Pools and Other Water Recreational Facilities Regulation, Manitoba Regulation 132/97 or successor regulation.

A Whirlpool means a swimming pool or hot tub that is designed primarly for therapeutic or recreational use, and that: is not drained, cleaned or refilled before use by successive users; utilizes hydrojet circulation, air induction or hot water or any combination of them; and, is not operated solely under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist.

The application form is available on-line. You can also contact the Community By-law Enforcement Division to request an application by mail, or visit the Community By-law Enforcement Division and pick up the application in person.

Prerequisites:

Upon application, the Community By-law Enforcement Division will coordinate the following:

Verification from a public health inspector that the premises at which the business is proposed to be operated or carried on meets the requirements of The Public Health Act, relevant City by-laws and other regulatory requirements relating to public health;

Verification from a City employee authorized to administer and enforce the Winnipeg Zoning By-law or the Downtown Winnipeg Zoning By-law that operation of the business on the premises proposed is permitted under one of those two zoning by-laws.
