A converted residential dwelling:

• Is a building containing a residential occupancy.
• Has a maximum building height of three stories.
• Was originally designed for use by one or two families but has since been converted to provide more than two suites.
• Is a building that was originally designed for use by one or two families but has since been converted to provide more than one suite with a commercial occupancy.

A converted residential dwelling does not include:

• A building that would otherwise meet the definition of a Division II building but complies with all applicable requirements for a Group C occupancy under the Manitoba Building Code.
• A facility licensed or otherwise regulated in its provision of accommodations by the Government of Manitoba or the Government of Canada.
• A hospital, a sanatorium or a facility designated by regulations under The Mental Health Act.
• A personal care home licensed under The Health Services Insurance Act.
• A residential care facility licensed under the Social Services Administration Act.
• A bed and breakfast establishment.

• Contact the Community By-law Enforcement Division to request an application by mail.
• Visit the Community By-law Enforcement Division and pick up the application in person.
