Mission

To enhance quality of life by delivering integrated neighbourhood services that build community capacity and contribute toward the protection of our public health, safety and environment, and to provide for the diverse cultural, recreational, knowledge pursuit, and information needs of the citizens of Winnipeg.

Public Service Divisions

Community Development and Recreation Services
Manager: Dan Prokopchuk

To provide citizens with organized recreation and leisure opportunities in order to enhance life skills, self-sufficiency, and community leadership development.

Library Services
Manager: Rick Walker

To provide citizens with quality, responsive and innovative services which foster the individual pursuit of knowledge and enhance the cultural, economic and intellectual vitality of the community.

 

Internal Service Divisions

Finance & Administrative Services
Manager: Cindy Fernandes

Provides internal financial services, support, and expertise for the Community Services Department.

Strategic & Information Systems Services
Manager: Kathy Knudsen

Provides strategic management, support and information technology services for the overall Community Services Department

Human Resource Strategy and Services
Manager: Brian Woodward

An internal service to the Community Services Department that provides complete and fully integrated human resource and payroll services.

Special Operating Agency

Animal Services Agency
Chief Operating Officer: Leland Gordon

A public service mandated through the City of Winnipeg Act that provides animal control and dispute resolution to citizens of Winnipeg.
