There’s a deer in my yard. What should I do?
Animal Services Agency does not deal with wildlife. If you have questions regarding the deer population in Winnipeg, contact Manitoba Conservation at 204-945-7273. If the deer is not causing any disturbance, it is best to leave it alone, keep a safe distance and allow it to continue on its journey.

Contact the Winnipeg Police Service at 911 if you have a bear in your yard.

Call 311 to register your concern.
Birds
There’s a peacock in my yard. What do I do?
Animal Services Agency does not deal with birds. Leave it alone and it will move away.
There is a turkey in my yard. What do I do?
Wild turkeys are native to Manitoba and from time to time they will come into Winnipeg. Leave them alone and they will find shelter in trees or move to another location.

Does the City of Winnipeg remove crows nests?
No, the Animal Services Agency does not offer this service. Consult the yellow pages for tree services that may offer to remove crows nests from private property.
Can I shoot the grackles and crows?
No. It is illegal to discharge a firearm within the City of Winnipeg. This includes pellet guns and sling shots.
Pigeons
My neighbour has a pigeon coup. Is this allowed?

What do I do about all the pigeons that are roosting on my house?
Animal Services Agency does not deal with pigeons on private property. Consult your yellow pages under exterminators.
