Destruction of Records

All records created or received while performing City business must be disposed of in accordance with Records Management By-law 86/2010.

For advice and/or assistance regarding the destruction of City records, contact your department’s records manager or email City of Winnipeg Archives.

Confidential Shredding Service

Allmove, the City’s shredding services contractor, can provide your office with a portable disposal console. These consoles are periodically emptied out and the contents are shredded on-site by the contractor.

Records Management Services encourages all City offices to make use of this service for the confidential shredding of documents that are routinely disposed of throughout the week.
