WCFS Sub-Committee List

  • Governance - responsible for (but not limited to): drafting and guiding the overall governance structure of the WCFS including its policies, procedures and protocols, setting limits on delegation appearances per meeting and time allotment, scheduling of meeting and/or special meetings
  • Planning – responsible for (but not limited to) logistical planning of all outreach activities (e.g: community events, etc.)
  • Communications – responsible for (but not limited to) communication planning/strategy, designing newsletters, press releases (including copy editing), etc., social media, news media monitoring, advertising & marketing
  • Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) – in response to the alarming number of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Winnipeg (and across Canada) the WCFS has recently formed a MMIW sub-committee that seeks to meaningfully contribute to research, consciousness-raising and exploitation/violence prevention strategies.

We promote and increase the safety of our city and our citizens by providing support, education and collaborative goals to help make our city safer.
