The Corporate Information Technology (CIT) is an internal service provider for the City of Winnipeg. The mandate of CIT is to provide information technology and electronic communication services to City departments that provide direct public service delivery.

Through the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO), CIT also proivdes administrative leadership for the information technology and information stewardship programs across the City, as determined by the Chief Administrative Officer or Council.

Office of the CIO
The Office of the CIO (OCIO) provides research and consultation. It provides corporate perspective regarding the acquisition and application of information technology within the organization. The OCIO also articulates shared vision and coordinates development of City-wide information technology (IT) activities and initiatives.

The OCIO is responsible for strategy and planning, enterprise architecture, project and operational oversight, security policy, license management, and emergency preparedness IT planning.

Business Technology Services
Business Technology Services manages and delivers all centrally-provided information technology services to City departments and Special Operating Agencies.
Workplace Management
The Workplace Management Division is responsible for planning, implementing and supporting information technology within the Corporate Information Technology and Corporate Services Departments as well as by service agreements with other smaller civic departments. Areas of responsibility include desktops, laptops, printers, mobile and voice devices, and facility management.
