Information technology services in the City of Winnipeg are provided and organized on a de-centralized basis (within departments) and on a centralized basis (through CIT Business Technology Services). The City-BTS focus is on those services that:
- span multiple departments
- are founded on shared or common IT infrastructure
- are more efficiently provided by one provider than many
- require extensive specialization and are required by more than one
department
