City of Winnipeg September long weekend operating hours

The public is advised that the following hours of operation will apply for City of Winnipeg services this coming September long weekend:

Winnipeg, September 01, 2010 - The public is advised that the following hours of operation will apply for City of Winnipeg services this coming September long weekend:

Offices:
All Civic Offices are closed on Monday, September 6, 2010.

Changes to Recycling/Garbage Collection on Monday, September 6, 2010.

Single-family Homes

  • There will be no recycling or garbage collection on Monday, September 6, 2010. Collection will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 - Day 4 on the five-day cycle.

Multi-family Apartments

  • Recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Hours of operation for the Brady Road Landfill during the holiday weekend:

Saturday, September 4 9:00 am to 5 pm
Sunday, September 5 9:00 am to 5 pm
Monday, September 6 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 pm

Winnipeg Transit:

On Monday, September 6, 2010, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Golf Courses:
All Municipal courses are open from dawn to dusk over the long weekend. Call now to book your tee times.

Libraries:

All libraries are closed on Monday, September 6. Fall and Winter Hours start September 7. See Winnipeg.ca/library for library schedules and locations.

Zoo:

Open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Conservatory:

Open 9:00 am. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday; and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Pools:

All indoor pools are closed on Monday, September 6 except Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex which will open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Outdoor Pools:

Weather permitting, the following four outdoor pools will be open on Saturday, September 4, Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6:

  • Freight House,
  • Kildonan Park,
  • Lions,
  • Westdale

Hours vary by location. For schedule information, please call 311 or check online at Winnipeg.ca.

Wading Pools:

Weather permitting, the following 16 wading pools will be open on Saturday, September 4, Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6:

  • Amherst Park,
  • Brock Cordova Park,
  • Central Park,
  • Dakota Park,
  • Bronx Park,
  • J.H. Bruns Park,
  • Home Playground,
  • Keenleyside Park,
  • McKittrick Park, Norquay
  • Community Club,
  • Shaughnessy Park,
  • Pascoe Park,
  • Pirates Park,
  • Vimy Ridge Park,
  • River Osborne,
  • Machray Park.

Hours vary; however, most wading pools are open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Spray Pads:

Five unsupervised spray pads are open over the long weekend, at the following locations:

  • Fort Rouge Park,
  • Lindenwoods Community Centre,
  • Provencher Park,
  • River Heights Community Centre ,
  • St. Norbert Community Centre.

Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Leisure Centres:
All Leisure Centres are closed on Monday, September 6. Regular hours are in effect on Saturday, September 4 andSunday, September 5. Please see the Leisure Guide or visit the City of Winnipeg website at Winnipeg.ca for Leisure Centre schedules.

Animal Services Agency:
Closed Monday, September 6. Open normal weekend hours on Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
