Routine maintenance work underway at Fort Rouge Leisure Centre necessitates temporary closure of Auditorium and Weight Room

Winnipeg, August 27, 2010 - The City of Winnipeg advises that the planned maintenance work currently underway at Fort Rouge Leisure Centre (FRLC), 625 Osborne Street, will require the temporary closure of two areas of the facility over the coming weeks.
These include:
- The Leisure Centre Auditorium will be closed to the public from Tuesday, September 7 through to Friday, September 17, 2010. The Auditorium will re-open on Saturday, September 18, 2010.
- The Leisure Centre’s Weight Room will be closed to the public from Tuesday, September 7 until Sunday, September 19. 2010. The Weight Room will re-open on Monday, September 20, 2010.
The required maintenance work includes upgrades to the facility’s lighting, as well as the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The primary areas impacted by this planned work have been the Multipurpose Room, Auditorium and Weight Room.
This maintenance project is on track to be completed by October 2010. While the majority of the work has been scheduled to occur after hours to ensure minimal impact on the individuals and program groups that utilize this recreation space, some areas of the building will be inaccessible for short periods of time, as outlined above.
These planned closures will also be communicated to facility users through signage at the Leisure Centre and on the City’s website at www.winnipeg.ca. Facility users can also contact 311 for up-to-date information regarding facility hours and any temporary closures. |
