What: Mayor Sam Katz will present the 2009 Lehotsky Scholarships in honour of the late Reverend Harry Lehotsky.

Where: Mayor’s Foyer, 2nd Floor, Council Building, 510 Main Street

Scholarship nominees Kendra Charles and Geoff Reimer

The Lehotsky Scholarship Fund, established in 2006, with New Life Ministries, was created to award scholarships to inner city youth in honour of Reverend Harry Lehotsky and his work with Winnipeg’s West End. Each year the Mayor awards a total of $5,000.00 in scholarships to eligible recipients who have demonstrated significant contribution and exceptional effort as an advocate for health and safety for the people of Winnipeg’s West End.
