WINNIPEG - November 5, 2008 – Winnipeg Firefighters will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children this Saturday, November 8, 2008 outside the stadium prior to the Eastern Conference semi-final playoff game.
The toy collection is part of the Toy Mountain campaign launched by retired and current firefighters and supported by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Salvation Army and Scotiabank.
In addition to bringing a toy to the game, the public can also donate toys at all fire stations in Winnipeg – as well as the Training Academy on McPhillips Street and the Fire Prevention Branch on St. Mary’s Road right up to December 22, 2008.
All toys collected will be distributed through the Salvation Army to children in need this Christmas.
