WINNIPEG - April 18, 2008 – The City of Winnipeg’s License Branch - Bicycle Recovery Section – is holding its annual auction of unclaimed bicycles on Saturday, April 19, 2008 and Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the Varsity View Sportsplex (located at 4230 Ridgewood Avenue).

Approximately 550 bicycles will be auctioned off on Saturday, and approximately 350 on Sunday. There will be plenty of bikes to choose from. On-site parking is available for $1.00, with all parking proceeds going to the Varsity View Community Club.

Public viewing will be available as follows:

• Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
  • Auction starts at 9:00 a.m. sharp
• Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
  • Auction starts at 12:00 p.m. sharp

Citizens are reminded that all bicycles are sold as is and a warranty is not given nor implied.

Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac payments will be accepted - cheques will not be accepted.

A one time bicycle registration will be available on site at a cost of $5.00 plus GST, per bicycle. Registering your bike will ensure that, should we recover it, you get it back at no charge!
