The age at which children can ride for free (when accompanied by a fare paying passenger) has been extended to 5 and under from 4 and under.

Weekly and monthly pass purchasers are eligible for a 15% federal government transit tax credit, visit www.winnipegtransit.com for more information. Pass purchasers should save their monthly or weekly passes and sales receipts.

2007 transit tickets (plus cash difference) will be accepted until March 31st, 2008.

MEDIA RELEASE:

WINNIPEG December 28, 2007 - Effective at 3:00 p.m. today, the Kenaston snow disposal site will be closed until further notice. The department will be conducting maintenance work to the site which will take several days to complete. This work is required given the high volume of traffic which has been experienced at the site.

The public is advised to use alternate sites, such as the disposal sites at Wilkes (Charleswood Lagoon), McPhillips, South End Pollution Control Centre, and Ravelston.
